Be a part of Mad Cow Theatre's Drama Club immersion experience! Join us Friday, September 6 for a 90 minute journey into the world of Pride and Prejudice with Rollins College Professor Ben Hudson.

In Drama Club, you will delve into the history, culture, lifestyle & climate of  the The Georgian Era. From the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, the shift from Enlightenment to Romantic trends in arts and how these social impacts influenced Jane Austen. Enjoy a sneak peek of MCT's Pride and Prejudice, and have a Q&A session with director, Tony Simotes.


Your evening's itinerary:
6:00 p.m. Mix and Mingle in the Lobby - Bar is open!
6:30 p.m. History, dramaturgy, the world of Jane Austen and The Georgian Era.
7:25 p.m. Sneak Peek of Pride and Prejudice, experiencing the rehearsal process.
7:40 p.m. Q & A with  Pride and Prejudice director, Tony Simotes.

Meet Your Professor: Ben Hudson (Assistant Professor Rollins College Department of English) Professor Hudson's research and teaching focus on nineteenth-century British literature; his secondary interests are in aestheticism, sexuality studies, and the intellectual history of amateurism. His current manuscript Exquisite Amateurs explores dilettantism as a crucial intellectual ideal at the fin de siecle. His research has appeared recently in Victorian Poetry and The Eighteenth Century: Theory and Interpretation.
